Signature Approaches

The PartnersGlobal team is made up of hundreds of trainers and facilitators from around the world ready to deliver our signature approaches, able to operate in local languages, and always adapting to the local context. These signature approaches have developed over the years in response to the most pressing issues of our time: Consensus Facilitation is needed now more than ever to help disparate actors work together effectively. We address corruption as a key driver of inequality and conflict around the world through FAIR. We are combatting polarization and toxic narratives through our Narratives for Peace programs. We strengthen civil society’s ability to thrive and combat rising authoritarianism through Resiliency+. We are giving grassroots peacebuilders new tools to put Positive Peace in Action. And, we are institutionalizing conflict resolution programs with our Pathways to Sustainable Mediation offering.

Since our founding, PartnersGlobal has always bridged the intersection of peacebuilding and democracy-building.

Consensus Facilitation

The basis of Partners’ way of working with diverse actors on a wide array of issues is to design and guide productive conversations that lead to effective joint action. Our consensus facilitation approach helps parties better understand an issue, maps interested stakeholders to invite broad participation, determines shared goals and resolves group conflicts along the way in order to reach consensus, to then implement and track concrete decisions reached.

Facilitating Accountability, Integrity, Transparency, and Resiliency (FAIR) Program

We treat corruption as a symptom of an organization’s malfunctioning and treat people as capable, motivated human beings, knowledgeable about their organizations. Basing our approach on the Islands of Integrity™ methodology, we tailor each strategic intervention to the specific context, working within government institutions and their constituencies to improve government effectiveness.

Narratives for Peace

Our Narratives for Peace approach guides activists and their allies through a process of analyzing how public outreach and messaging campaigns can be capable of restoring societal relationships instead of exacerbating divisions. We work with partners across sectors to identify existing narrative frames, i.e. how the public’s deeply held beliefs affect different perspectives and positions on complex issues. We ground narrative strategy first in self-reflection of activists’ own cognitive biases, so we are open to seeing issues from many different perspectives. We then explore and activate more inclusive messaging campaigns capable of drawing in broad coalitions and movements to support our issues.  We broker expertise and networks of creatives, marketers, entertainment industry leaders and the private sector to widely disseminate narratives that can gain wide appeal and impact for peaceful change.

Pathways to Sustainable Mediation

Pathways to Sustainable Mediation is a coaching and peer-learning based program to support sophisticated Mediation Promoters. We help mediators develop the skills necessary to create the political buy-in, policies, systems and infrastructure needed to sustain mediation programs that can provide conflict resolution services within institutions and communities for the long term. Our international team of mediation experts bring a diversity of perspectives and cultural backgrounds to tailor the program for our audience and context.

Positive Peace in Action

Positive peace is not just the absence of violence, but the presence of the systems, structures and norms that support peace. Unfortunately, there are few resources to educate and inform citizens on how to actively work for positive peace in practice. To address this gap, we teamed up with Rotary International and the Institute for Economics and Peace to develop a Positive Peace in Action Curriculum and Implementation Guide for grassroots peacebuilders and their allies.
