Centers for Change & Conflict Management
Partners builds locally staffed and managed organizations in developing democracies that provide change management skills and processes, resolve conflicts, and build consensus at the local, regional and international level. Partners develops Centers through a long-term commitment that includes:
- Assessing change and conflict management needs through site visits and research
- Identifying complementary and cooperating institutions and building local support for a Center
- Securing two to three years of initial funding
- Registering the Center locally as an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization
- Hiring the Center Director, and working with the Director to hire additional staff
- Building a local Board of Directors
- Developing short-, mid-, and long-term strategic plans and budgets with Center staff
- Providing Center staff with training and technical assistance in fundraising, program design and management, financial management, and other organizational development skills
- Transferring expertise and resources from other Centers, and incorporating the new Center into the Partners for Democratic Change International partnership
Each Center acculturates Partners' skills and processes
and develops unique specializations that address their constituents'
specific needs. Once established, Centers' activities include
training for all sectors in change and conflict management,
mediating disputes, facilitating citizen participation initiatives
and inter-group conciliation, promoting public policies
on effective change management, and developing academic
programs. Click here for
