Position Title: Country Representative – Civil Society Program in the Middle East
Reports to: Director of International Programs
Location:  Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt

Partners for Democratic Change is seeking a Country Representative to implement programs in the Middle East to strengthen civil society. The Country Representative will be responsible for program development and implementation, financial management, staff supervision, general oversight of daily office management, public relations, and providing technical assistance and training.  This is a long-term position to be based in the field, with a generous benefits package.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant experience working in the Middle East.  Preference will be given to persons having worked in Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Egypt.
  • A proven track record managing complex civil society programs, particularly those focusing on civil society strengthening, sustainability, advocacy, and legal reform. 
  • Experience managing large USAID funded agreements and familiarity with USAID regulations are required. 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving and ethical management.
  • Experience managing a diverse team of employees.
  • Experience managing sub-grant programs.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English is required.
  • Arabic language skills are a plus.

Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.

The Country Representative will be responsible for program development and implementation, financial management, staff supervision, general oversight of daily office management, public relations, and providing technical assistance and training. This is a long-term position to be based in the field, with a generous benefits package.

  • Significant experience working in the Balkans. Preference will be given to persons with European or Eurasian experience in civil society programs.
  • A proven track record managing complex civil society programs, particularly those focusing on civil society strengthening, sustainability, advocacy, and legal reform.
  • Experience managing large USAID-funded agreements and familiarity with USAID regulations are required.
  • Experience supporting the development of local civil society organizations.
