Partners in Sub-Saharan Africa
Partners first Center in Africa was established in Senegal in 2010. Sub-Saharan Africa is the world's poorest region and faces challenges in all sectors. From health to education to security, many governments fail to meet the needs of their citizens; while others remain stagnant in a state of quasi-democracy. Partners for Democratic Change seeks to engage the region's huge population to promote localized development initiatives that enable people to improve their own future.
Additionally, Partners helped the Senegalese center to develop African Institute for Security Sector Transformation (AISST) to promote improved civilian-military relations in support of human security on the Continent.
