PDC Newsletter Summer 2009
- Highlights recent changes, such as the new website, plans for the anniversary celebration in November, and progress towards three new centers in 2010. It also features in-depth articles with updates from the newest centers and the Catalysts for Democratic Change program as well as a close look at Socios Mexico's work to engage members of Mexico's Congress in dialogue about national security and climate change.

- During the summer, PDCI welcomed Partners-Peru center to the network, and completed a variety of successful projects across the globe -- from civil society strengthening in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to building consensus among Yemeni groups.

- Partners supports Corporate Social Responsibility by engaging corporations in its democracy endeavors worldwide. Two new Centers, in Mexico and Jordan, open and join the PDCI network. Also, Partners' cooperative advocacy methodology is used in growing NGOs across America.

- Partners hosted a successful symposium event on the topic of new and emerging democracies. With USAID support, Partners has launched a four-year Roma integration initiative across Central and Eastern Europe.

- Partners' mediation training and methodology is being implemented throughout Hungary, due to its initial successes, while Partners has begun mediating disputes in prisons elsewhere.

- Partners tackles issues of ethnic conflict and struggles for independence with its work in Serbia and Kosovo. Partners' research delves into the Wallenberg Approach to tolerance for development.

- Partners works with the Roma community to improve access to information and support education, and encourage integration and rights for this marginalized group.

- With its dedication to mediation and peaceful conflict resolutions growing, Partners works with police and minorities in Hungary to mediate disputes, helps with ethnic conciliation in Slovakia, and reconciles community differences with a waste management company. Additionally, Partners plans to open new three centers to promote its goals.
