Partners Jordan's Participatory Program Recognized by the Jordanian Government
Partners-Jordan's work is recognized by the Jordanian government at a regional Lessons Learned Conference.
On May 4th - 5th, 2010, Partners-Jordan conducted a Regional Lessons Learned Conference in Amman, Jordan, attended by representatives from Jordan, Yemen, Bahrain and Lebanon. The conference was held to review projects implemented in the region and to compare successes, identify challenges and discuss possible next steps. The conference was held under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Ali Al-Gazwi, Minster of Municipal Affairs, and was opened by his Deputy Mr. Ahmad Al-Gazo, General Secretary at the Ministry. The representatives from the Jordanian government gave recognition to Partners-Jordan’s participatory budgeting project, which was characterized as “in line” with the ministry's efforts to promote citizen participation in advancing local development and political reform.
Guests from local and international NGOs, donor organizations and embassies attended the event, which was a closing activity for the “Arab Initiative for Equivalent Budget –Participatory Budgeting Coalition” project, funded by Rady School for Management through the US Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative.
