AISST Director speaks at the the World Movement for Democracy's Sixth Assembly

Col. Birame Diop, Director of AISST, presented on the institutionalization of civil-military relations at the National Endowment for Democracy's 6th Forum for Democracy in Jakarta

Col. Diop, Director of AISST, spoke to an engaged group at the World Movement for Democracy's Sixth Assembly, which took place from April 11-14, 2010 in Jakarta, Indonesia. In collaboration with the Indonesian Center for Strategic Studies, he discussed how to define and institutionalize democratic civil-military relations and examined the implications of these concepts.

News: Fourth Annual Warren Knight Award Presented to Partners for Democratic Change
The JAMS Foundation’s Fourth Annual Warren Knight Award will be presented to Partners for Democratic Change, along with a $25,000 grant. The award recognizes Partners for effectively managing and resolving conflict and for assisting emerging democracies throughout the world to advance a civil society. The organization will receive its award at the ABA Dispute Resolution Conference in Washington, D.C. on April 20 during the Friday Awards Luncheon.
