Partners Yemen Holds Workshop to Finalize Conflict-Sensitive Development Manual

Community leaders from Partners Yemen's Community-Based Conflict Mitigation Program provide critical feedback.

During September 25-27, Partners Yemen organized a workshop for 18 trained Community Leaders as part of the Community-Based Conflict Mitigation Program (CMM). The workshop focused on finalizing the conflict-sensitive development manual that was drafted in mid-August. In open discussion and group work, the participants developed suggestions and recommendations to further improve the manual. Their feedback included increasing the conflict management section of the manual and adding a section about tribal mediation techniques which have been effectively used in local conflict management settings. The event was co-funded by USAID and Peace Direct, an international organization based in London that works with local peacebuilding organizations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
