In Senegal, Partners and Partners-Senegal are facilitating the mainstreaming of gender considerations into reform of the security sector and are bringing more women into every branch and level of the Senegalese armed forces.
At this October 2011 conference, Partners-Senegal's African Institute for Security Sector Transformation (AISST) joined a distinguished group of scholars, government representatives, military representatives and Guinean civil society organizations in a discussion of how to ensure that the national security policy development process remains credible and effective.
On October 20 and 21, 2011, Partners-Senegal- African Institute for Security Sector Transformation (AISST), the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS) - United States, and the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), held a joint conference on the theme “Developing a Guinean National Security Policy.”
