Fundación Cambio Democrático
Fundación Cambio Democrático was founded in 1998 as the initial Partners Center to promote change and conflict management in Latin America.
Since then, FCD has worked with representatives of all sectors and implemented innovative models of citizen participation, with the mission of enhancing the capacity of communities for the prevention and democratic transformation of public conflicts, promoting collaborative advocacy processes, to achieve a more democratic, just, peaceful, and sustainable society.
We perform our work through the construction of dialogue spaces, the strengthening of capabilities, mediation and facilitation, and the observation of conflict evolution.
For this triennium 2014-2016, our work will primarily focus on supporting social processes related to:
Natural Resources- Promoting sustainable management of Mining, Hydrocarbons, Energy, and Water
Habitat- Promoting a better quality of life for all citizens regarding, among others, such services as Urban Waste Management, Mobility, and Housing
Democratic Institutions- Promoting collaborative advocacy in Organized Crime Policies and the Strengthening of States and Political Parties
Indigenous Peoples- Strengthening and promoting their participation in democratic processes
FCD's strategic goals are:
a) To develop participatory processes for the formulation and implementation of public policies;
b) To strengthen capabilities of vulnerable sectors in conflictive situations; and,
c) To facilitate specific processes on public conflicts, through a peaceful and participatory approach.
