شركاء الاردن Opened in 2005, Partners Jordan offers a range of services designed to promote increased citizen involvement in Jordan’s social and political development. It specializes in strengthening good governance and developing Jordanian civil society through the spread of mediation and conflict and change management skills and services. In all of its work Partners Jordan strengthens ongoing political reform efforts by facilitating dialogue and cooperation between the government and civil society sectors. The Center is also committed to increasing political participation by women, youth, and marginalized groups. Highlights from the Jordanian Center include: Developing its capacity to act as a Regional Management Office
that will oversee the training of new regional Partners Centers, develop a
network of trainers, facilitate regional trainings and workshops, and help
structure marketing and fundraising strategies for future Partners’ Centers in
the Middle East. To this end Partners Jordan has begun serving as a hub
for Partners’ growing work in the Middle East, cooperating with Partners on
work in Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt,
Morocco, Algeria, Yemen and Bahrain. Promoting in-country training and trainer expertise to increase citizen participation, build consensus, and manage disputes that are inherent in a democratic system. Trainings are offered to civil society organizations, government representatives, and the private sector in effective communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and cooperative planning methodologies. Providing change and conflict management services to help community, government, and business leaders resolve contentious local issues. The Center offers services in mediation, dialogue facilitation, consensus building, and cooperative planning. Partners-Jordan also conducts extensive outreach across sectors to educate diverse groups about the utility of such programs. Encouraging new public policies using citizen participation processes to build bottom-up support for civil society and government reform initiatives.Partners-Jordan has been extensively involved with other NGOs to form a coalition and take part in leading efforts to lobby for changes in the association law and mediate open hearing sessions in parliament and with relevant ministries. In addition, Partners-Jordan is facilitating national-level collaborative discussions between civil society organizations and between government and civil society to push forward this reform process. Promoting democratic development and more effective and
sustainable institutions through programs utilizing change and dispute
management skills that lead to results such as improved governance,
strengthened civic leadership, and more effective and sustainable institutions.
