"After
attending RIP training, my father encouraged me to create
a new NGO to support marginalized Roma communities. It is
not easy to find work that you love - I feel lucky."
-- RIP small grant beneficiary
The Roma Integration Program works with
communities in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia
to improve standards of living, and to ultimately decrease
unemployment levels and increase integration opportunities.
The Roma Integration Program’s small
grants’ program distributes $1 million over four years
to support to education and social service projects. Through
developing and implementing these projects, non-governmental
organizations also improve their ability to write grants
and manage programs, and to ultimately ensure their own
growth and sustainability.
To date, the Roma Integration Program has
approved funding for over 100 projects in the nine target
communities, directly impacting 6,000 people and indirectly
affecting thousands more. Grant programs focus on education,
health, cultural activities, employment counseling, job
skills training, and youth.
