Change in its most recent Citizenship Report. The Foundation,
a longtime supporter, highlighted Partners’ innovative capacity-building
initiatives in the “Human Rights” section of its 2006

Business-NGO Partnerships Conference-May 9-10,
2006
Partners will participate in Ethical Corporation's
Business-NGO Partnership Conference in May 2006. Over
the past several years, Partners for Democratic Change has
embarked on a long-term effort to facilitate closer linkages
between business sector actors and development practitioners,
recognizing their mutual interdependence. During this conference,
Partners will participate in a roundtable with Marcela Manubens,
Vice President of Global Human Rights and Social Responsibility,
Philips Van Heusen Corporation, which will be moderated
by Paul Martin, Executive Director, Columbia University,
Center for the Study of Human Rights. Partners will share
our innovative strategies for managing conflict and change
at the local level in difficult environments where multiple
stakeholders represent diverse, often antagonistic, interests.
We will share specific approaches for managing local conflicts,
how these strategies work, when they should not be used
and what is needed for them to succeed.
Conflict Prevention and Resolution
Forum
As a sponsor of the Conflict
Prevention and Resolution Forum, Partners supports the
open exchange of ideas and dialogue on a variety of topics.
The forum is held each month in Washington, DC. We hope
you can join us for these informative and worthwhile sessions.
